How to Download Pinterest Videos in HD MP4
Pinterest's own Save button only stores a video inside your account. It stays locked to the app, tied to your login, and unavailable the moment you're offline.
That's a problem if you want the actual file on your phone or laptop, ready to use without an internet connection or a Pinterest account at all.
Here's how to save any Pinterest video as a standalone MP4 file, in five steps.
01 Open the Video Pin
Find the video Pin you want to save and open it directly on Pinterest, either through the app or in your browser. Make sure the full Pin page loads before continuing.
02 Copy the Direct Pin Link
Tap the share icon on the Pin and select Copy Link. This gives you the exact URL for that single video, not a board or profile link.
03 Paste the Link Into the Downloader
Go to our Pinterest Video Downloader and paste the link into the input box. The tool reads the Pin and pulls up the available video file.
04 Choose Your MP4 Quality
Select the resolution you want from the options shown. The downloader lists every quality Pinterest actually stored for that video, from standard definition up to the original upload resolution.
Why quality options vary by video
Pinterest asks creators to upload video Pins as MP4 or M4V files, encoded in H.264 or H.265, ideally at 1080x1920 for full-screen display. A downloader can only offer the resolutions Pinterest actually stored for that specific video, so an older or lower-resolution upload won't produce a 1080p file no matter which tool you use.
05 Download and Save
Tap the download button next to your chosen quality. The MP4 file saves directly to your device's downloads folder or camera roll, ready to play offline.
One Thing to Know Before You Start
Pinterest lets creators control whether their full-screen video Pins can be downloaded at all. If a creator has turned this off, the video won't be available through any downloader, including ours.
Pinterest's own help documentation confirms that creators can choose whether people are allowed to download their full-screen video Pins.
