Pinterest Video Downloader for iPhone: The Safari Save-to-Photos Fix
You download a Pinterest video on your iPhone, open Photos to find it, and your camera roll is empty. The download seemed to work, but the video is nowhere in sight.
Nothing failed. The video isn't lost, and Safari didn't skip the download. It landed exactly where iOS puts it by default: the Files app, not Photos.
Here's how to move it into your camera roll in under a minute.
Why iPhone Downloads Skip Photos
Safari on iPhone sends every downloaded file to the Files app first. This applies to Pinterest videos the same way it applies to PDFs, images, or any other file type.
Apple's own support documentation confirms that files downloaded through Safari on iPhone or iPad are stored in the Downloads folder inside the Files app, not automatically added to Photos.
This is an iOS system behavior, not something specific to Pinterest or any particular downloader.
01 Download the Video
Open the pin on Pinterest, tap the share icon, and select Copy Link. Paste it into our Pinterest Video Downloader, choose your MP4 quality, and tap Download.
02 Open the Files App
Leave Safari and open the Files app on your iPhone. Tap Browse, then On My iPhone or iCloud Drive, then open the Downloads folder to find your video.
03 Open the Video File
Tap the video to open it. It will play directly inside the Files app using the built-in video player.
04 Save It to Photos
While the video is playing, tap the share icon at the bottom of the screen and select Save Video. The file copies into your Photos app and appears in your camera roll immediately.
Quick way to find it faster next time
- In Safari, tap the downloads icon in the address bar right after downloading to jump straight to the file
- Search "Downloads" inside the Files app to locate it without browsing folders
- Once saved to Photos, the original copy stays in Files too unless you delete it separately
Paste any public Pinterest video link into our Pinterest Video Downloader and get an MP4 file in seconds, no account or software install required.
