Pinterest Downloader Not Working? 7 Fixes
You paste a Pinterest link into a downloader, hit download, and nothing happens. The button spins. The page shows an error. Or the file downloads but won't open.
Most download failures trace back to a small set of fixable causes, not a broken tool.
Below are 7 fixes to try, in order.
01 Check If You Copied the Right Link
A downloader can only work with a valid, direct pin URL. Many users accidentally copy a board link or a shortened share link that redirects incorrectly.
Open the pin directly on Pinterest. Tap the share icon and select Copy Link, not "Copy Board Link." Paste this exact URL into our Pinterest Video Downloader.

02 Confirm the Pin Is Public
Downloaders can only access content that Pinterest makes publicly visible. Private boards, login-only pins, and invitation-only content are blocked at the source.
A downloader has no way around Pinterest's own privacy settings. It can only read what the platform serves publicly, the same limit that applies to search engines and browsers.
If the pin belongs to a private board, ask the owner to make it public first.
03 Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies
Old cached data is one of the most frequent causes of failed downloads. Your browser may be loading a stale version of the Pinterest page instead of the current one.
Pinterest's help center recommends this exact fix for browser-related issues, advising users to clear temporary files that may be interfering with the page.
Do this in your browser settings, then reload Pinterest and try again.
04 Disable Conflicting Browser Extensions
Ad blockers, VPN extensions, and privacy tools sometimes strip out the exact scripts a downloader needs to read the page.
Turn off extensions one at a time and retest. Once the download works, you'll know which extension was the problem.
05 Check If Pinterest Itself Is Down
Sometimes the issue has nothing to do with the downloader. Pinterest occasionally experiences outages that affect saving, loading, and sharing across the entire platform.
Check Pinterest's live status before assuming the tool is broken. If Pinterest is down, no downloader — ours included — will be able to pull data until service is restored.
06 Update Your Browser
Outdated browsers can fail to render Pinterest's current page structure correctly. This breaks the connection between the page and the downloader.
Update to the latest version of Chrome, Safari, or Firefox, then reload the page and try the download again.
07 Try a Different Network Connection
Weak or restricted Wi-Fi, especially on public or corporate networks, can block the request before it reaches Pinterest's servers. Switch to mobile data or a different network and try again.
If the download completes on a new network, your original connection was likely filtering the request.
If you've tried all seven fixes and the download still fails, the pin may have been deleted, made private, or restricted by the original creator. In that case, no downloader can retrieve it. If the issue persists on a pin you believe is public, reach out to our support team with the pin link.
